Building an Empathy Library

What does the world need more than a “Building Empathy Library”?

Hey, Little Ant is honored to join such strong books in Lakeshore Learning’s collection.

    Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hoose,

I begin each kindergarten year talking about ants. I actually was planning on writing a book about ants from their perspective. Then I discovered your wonderful book tucked away, apparently left behind by a former teacher. It’s everything and more than I could have possibly written myself.

In thinking about a speech I have to give about the selfless program I started in my school and the work I do outside of school, I decided to bring your book along. I also began researching your background and discovered how amazing the two of you truly are in your efforts to teach caring.

Please know that my wheels are turning already in preparation for Sept. and your books will be the focal point of many, many wonderful discussion and activities.

    Thank you!

    Sincerely, June

June, thank you for all the amazing work you do and for using HEY, LITTLE ANT in your teaching. We hope you DO write a picture book someday soon.
